Fiction

I began doing community theater, and have taken that approach with me in my fiction films. I have always approached the films starting with what people, places or stories are around me. From there it’s just convincing the friends, family and neighbors into being part of the film. In that sense I am very surprised to look back and see how different all the contexts are and what art these produced.

Acqua Fuori dal Ring

95 min. Sicily

Two boxers fight to survive inside and outside of the ring.

Profumo di Lumia

90 min.

A coming of age story set in small town Sicily.

Here are my first films, back from my Denver Days. I have always been ashamed that I am not a better filmmaker, so I used to never share the films. But what is undoubtedly beautiful are the people who were part of this crazy obsession. Making films in this way with community was just an excuse for us to come together around something positive. The memories of my life are the memories of working on these films. I love everyone who put their energy and life into these films.

The First Move
